Some people think without a management you cannot break into the modelling industry, but is that true ? Yes and no. Yes because you have not been taught how manage yourself and no because you are about to be given all the tips you will need in this blog.

CREATE A SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT:
Creating a social media account is a very important step if you want to get a lot modelling jobs without a management. You will not only gain an audience through your followers but you will also get alot of brands reaching out to you especially on instagram. So eventhough there are a lot of social media platforms , I recommend that you use instagram because that’s where you

INTERRACTING WITH YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING:
It is important that you interract with your social media following. The more followers you have the more your possiblity of getting gigs becomes easier.

TRY OTHER JOBS THAT BE IN ANYWAY RELATED TO MODELLING:
Influencing and commercial are similar so you might want to try becoming an influencer to learn more about not only commercial modelling , but photo modelling as well because you might be called to take shoots for billboards , banners , body and hair products etc. The modelling industry is a very competitive one and since you are starting your career on your own , you might want take advantage of your social media following to earn some money because you will need it a lot

BULDING A BRAND:
Building a brand is very important because it makes you unique or makes you stand out.
[2/2, 22:32] wonder: For example , you can be know for wearing a lot of sneakers or you might be fond of wearing jewelry. This will make a lot of sneaker and jewerly brands want to work with you (might not be what you want but you get brands for different kinds of products if you work hard).

DON’T BE BORING /BE VERSATILE:
Just because you are known for wearing a lot of jewelry or sneakers does not mean you should be boring. Try adding other things to your brand to make your brand versatile so that brands with other different products can reach out to you.

BUlLD A GOOD PORFOLIO: A porfolio is also very important because eventhough have social media account and you might be fine without a management , you still need to have a portfolio. This is because some brands always want to know more about the model they are working or would want to work with.
[2/3, 10:42] wonder: You will need to hire a photographer but if you cannot afford to pay for one , then you can you a phone but it should be a phone with a very good camera (the phone with the best camera if you can get one). You will also need someone who can take very good pictures of you in other to get a very professional porfolio

POST GOOD / HIGH QUALITY CONTENT ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA HANDLES:
Aside the portfolio, this is also needed because brands check them out in terms of photos (your poses and angles) in terms of photo modelling and the number of audience you attract to your posts or contents in terms of commercial modelling.

DO A LOT OF RESEARCH:
Research helps a lot because it helps you know the field of modelling you are intrested in.

REACHING OUT TO EXPERIENCED MODELS:
You can reach out to models within your locality. They tell about their experiences will enable you learn alot and also help you know if this is really want to do and you are ready to face every challenge and resposibilities that come with being a freelance model. I will usually recommend that you talk to freelance model more.

WOKING WITH REPUTABLE BRANDS:
As a freelance model , it is improtant that investigate about every single brand you work with. Don’t with just any brand because you need the money because every
brand you work with today with have either positive or negative effect or career. Try working with brands that thar good reputations. One may ask what if the brand is new how will i know that it’s fake or legit ? The answer is yes some new brands can be real but if they are real you’ll get them posting contents in terms or photos or videos regularly on their page ( that’s if the brand is on social media).

ATTEND FASHION RELATED EVENTS REGULARLY:
This enable you to meet advanced people that can introduce you to a lot
of famous and reputable brands you can work with.
